Chapter 11. Personnel Letters > Letters Requesting and Refusing Raises

Letters Requesting and Refusing Raises

Sample Letter 11.56 was written by an employee to request a pay raise. The letter is short and to the point. After requesting the raise in the introductory paragraph, the writer reasonably states his case and his contributions in the second paragraph, and then closes by asking for a personal audience with his supervisor to discuss the merits of his request.

Sample letter 11.56. Letter requesting a raise (full-block format).
