ESTABLISH YOUR OWN CREDIBILITY

Finally, as you launch your training session, begin this last piece of your introduction by saying something like: "Before we take a break, I'd like to tell you about my background and why I'm here today..." Refer to your bio in the handout package, but elaborate on the points that your audience would find most interesting.

Remember that the most important element of your own personal and professional communication strategy is your audience's perception of your credibility. If the participants perceive that you are credible—if they believe you, trust you, have confidence in you—you will be an effective trainer.
