REMEMBER

As tough as feedback may be to give, it is only by receiving thorough and explicit feedback that your trainees learn and improve. Be open to feedback yourself. Be a role model for the skills you teach. Then recognize every opportunity for improvements that you can share with the individuals in your class as they demonstrate their skills. Explain the needed changes, demonstrate the techniques to implement the changes, and motivate participants to incorporate those techniques into their preparation and delivery processes. Finally, enthusiastically recognize improvement and reinforce the personal and specific benefit derived from the investment. It's a long way from just "Great job!"
