MY STORY

It's hard enough to give negative feedback in a class where participants anticipate evaluation. As a trainer, however, you might also face situations where you need to give feedback to people (often company executives) who did not ask for your opinion about their presentations. The effectiveness of such feedback may depend on the timing of your message.

In my position as communication consultant to a regional real estate development company, I was invited to attend the annual stockholders meeting. The main purpose was for me to hear the corporate strategy as it was being presented to the stockholders and to get a better sense of the overall culture of the organization.
