Appendix B. Selling Your Presentation Course

You can practice what you are going to teach by applying the Strategic Communication Model to the issue at hand: Why should anyone invest valuable resources in presentation training? Your goals are to get buy-in from two groups: the managers who are going to support it and the participants who are going to attend it. By going through the model step by step, you will create a successful sales campaign and design a terrific example for your class.

A caveat, however: This is an example of how the model can be applied as you sell your course. You would design the actual material for your persuasive messages based on information about the situation, audiences, and objectives in your specific organization.
