Chapter 6. Unit summary: Communication styles and methods

Topic A In this unit, you learned about the different communication styles. You learned that there are four primary types: collaborator, contributor, inquisitor, and director. You also learned that there are secondary styles associated with each of these: aggressor, consenter, avoider, and controller.
Topic B Finally, you learned about the different verbal and nonverbal modes of communication. You learned that tone, pitch, and volume as well as language affect communication, and that nonverbal cues, such as gestures, eye contact, proximity, and touch, can communicate your feelings to others.
