Apologizing to subordinates

Occasionally, a supervisor might make an error for which he needs to apologize to his subordinates. If you find yourself in this situation, you should follow these four steps:

  1. Assess the error and the damage it has caused.

  2. Offer a sincere apology.

  3. Listen to those who have been affected by your error.

  4. Propose and explain solutions.
