Subject and verb agreement

For example, in the following sentence, “Jane acts happy,” both “Jane” and “acts” are singular. However, “Jane and John acts happy,” is incorrect. To make the subject and verb agree in this sentence, “acts” would change to “act,” as shown in Exhibit 5-1.
