Role of an adverb

Adverbs usually answer the questions “How?” “Where?” “When?” or “To what extent?” an action is carried out. Adverbs usually end in “ly,” such as “badly,” “really,” and “strongly,” but some do not, such as “too,” “very,” and “quite.”

Within sentences, adverbs should be placed as close as possible to the words they modify to avoid confusion.
