Persuasion

Being persuasive is challenging because its goal encompasses more than informing an audience. In persuasive speaking, the presenter's goal is to influence the audience to agree with him or her and, in some cases, influence the audience to act on this belief. Because people's attitudes and behaviors are based on the beliefs and experiences they have accumulated throughout their lives, making it difficult to change these attitudes and behaviors.

To persuade in an ethical manner, you must show respect for your audience's ability to think for themselves. Therefore, you should provide them with all the information they need to evaluate and make rational decisions about the message.
