Leah Feldstein was nearing the end of the third quarter of the second year on a $300,000 grant from the John T. Elliston Foundation, a grant that she had had a big part in writing the proposal for. Although she had already written six quarterly reports on EDUCARE's Program Drugfree, she was particularly concerned about this one, because Elliston was embarking on a close review of all funded projects, with an eye to possible cuts. She knew that if she weren't persuasive about the progress EDUCARE had made in drug rehabilitation, the firm could lose part or all of its funding on the renewal grant that had to be proposed next quarter.
