Be a Good Guest

Respond to all invitations within 24 hours.

Confirm the date, time, and location the day before the meal.

Ask about appropriate attire.

Be punctual.

Don’t talk business until the host brings up the topic.

Avoid discussing controversial topics.

Ask the host for menu recommendations and use his or her suggestions as clues about appropriate price ranges.

Always carry a credit card or cash in case the host “forgets” his or her duties and asks you to pay the bill or expects you to share it.

Always send a thank-you note within 24 hours.
