Mentors possess their own strengths and abilities that they offer to their mentees. These may include:

Job or career related coaching and counseling that stretch the mentee

Personal experiences and what they have learned or distilled from those experiences

Access to a network of technical or business leaders

Knowledge of emerging trends or developments within the organization or industry

Assistance in developing and implementing personal development plans

Perspective or contacts that provide cross-functional exposure, insight or experience

Coaching behaviors consistent with organizational needs and values
