Chapter 6. Mentors Help—Mentees Do!

It has been said everyone who “makes it” has had a mentor. That may have been true in the hierarchical organizations of the past. Traditionally in mentoring, older more experienced and knowledgeable individuals took younger, less sophisticated people under their wing and shared tips on how to get along and/or succeed in a given culture, environment or organization. Frequently, this kind of information was not available in any other form to the person being mentored.
