Only a month after graduating from college, Joe accepted a job with a federal agency in his chosen professional field. He arrived his first morning ready for work, but also somewhat nervous, since this was his first “real job.”

Joe and eighteen other young people received a brief orientation presentation, including a film on the agency, its structure and mission. Each participant was also given a folder listing “all of the things you need to know”— including instructions on how to fill out time sheets, a map of local bus routes, key telephone numbers in the agency and other valuable information.
