Chapter 2. Types of Interviews > Serial Interviews

Serial Interviews

This is simply a series on interviews of varying types with various people. It may start with a screening interview with a recruiter in the human resources department and move on to a selection interview with the vice president of that division. You might then be sent on the to supervisor of the department in which you hope to work. You may be asked to meet some of the people or a group of people from other departments with whom you’d work. Some companies set up an impressive series of interviews for final candidates for key positions.

The important thing to remember is that you may be asked the same questions over and over. Each person will think their question is very original, however. You must therefore remain fresh and stimulating throughout the entire process and make each meeting seem like it’s your first. This may be tough if it’s been a long day, but it’s extremely important to engage each interviewer equally.
