Chapter 2. Types of Interviews

Chapter 2. Types of Interviews

An interview gives the applicant and the interviewer an opportunity to exchange information that’s relevant to the position at hand. Some interviewers are skilled at eliciting detailed personal information, while others are content to “merely scratch” the surface. If at all possible, find out what type of interview you’re going to have, since you will need to prepare accordingly. Sometimes you won’t know ahead of time what type of interview it will be, so you’ll have to evaluate it while it’s progressing and determine what information to provide and what questions are appropriate to ask.
