Chapter 12. Legalities

Discrimination against applicants on the basis of race, sex, age, or religion, is of course illegal. Most interviewers are well trained to avoid it, but it’s useful to have some basic knowledge of what interviewers can legally ask you in case you suspect you’re being interviewed unfairly.

Most applications state something like “Widget Corporation is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, color, race, age, national origin, physical handicap, or marital status.”
