Chapter 20. Conclusion

Chapter 20. Conclusion

Use this book as a reference tool before to your interviews, but don’t let it stop at that. Build your own interviewing book, including comments about your most and least successful interviews, as well as lists of the kinds of information you need to ask for, benefits you regard as essential, questions you want to ask, and virtually anything and everything you consider meaningful. Keep a thorough account of all your interviewers and the contacts you make along the way, noting their exact affiliations and titles.

Whatever twists and turns your career takes as you go along, you will eventually land the job you want. And though you may at the time attribute getting that job primarily to good luck and good timing, chances are it will have stemmed directly from the impact you made in your interview.
