Creating Groups

Grouping several objects within AutoCAD can be done on a temporary basis using the Group command. This command enables you to select any AutoCAD object and group it with one or more objects. Any object of a group can be part of multiple groups. For example, suppose you are trying to determine the location of a series of light fixtures within a room. By grouping the fixtures together, you can easily move them as a whole to decide where they will be located.

Typing Group at the command line launches the command and brings up the Object Grouping dialog box, shown in Figure 10.8.
