Object Cycling

Another feature that is invaluable when you are trying to select an object from a group of overlapping objects is called object cycling. Using the Object Cycle feature can assist you in selecting exactly what you want when the desired object is obstructed by another object. Clicking two or more overlying objects while pressing the Ctrl key highlights the first object. Picking another point anywhere on the screen highlights the next object found at that selection point. This process continues until you press the Enter key, which selects the highlighted object.

This feature is great when selecting one object at a time, yet searching the entire drawing, you can use the Quick Select command to find specifically what you're looking for. This enables you to filter the drawing and select a particular object type, based on a property or feature like color or linetype. The next section discusses the Quick Select command in detail.
