Chapter 13. Hatching > Creating Your Own Hatch Patterns

Creating Your Own Hatch Patterns

It can be a rather elaborate process to create your own hatch patterns, adding to the 67 hatch patterns provided in AutoCAD. Sometimes, however, a predefined pattern in AutoCAD just won't do. Maybe you want to use a pattern that better illustrates a specific material or new technique used on the project, and you are willing to invest the time and effort to create your own hatch pattern. So let's spend some time and look at this process.

→ If you find you want a different hatch pattern than AutoCAD provides but you don't necessarily want to create your own hatch pattern, try using the Super Hatch Express Tool described in the "Using the Super Hatch Command to Create Hatch Patterns" section later in this chapter.
