Chapter 14. Dimensioning > Editing Dimensions

Editing Dimensions

AutoCAD 2000 provides two sets of commands for editing dimensions: Dimension Edit and Dimension Text Edit on the Dimension toolbar; and Oblique and Align Text on the Dimension menu. After reviewing each of these commands, you will also try some alternative ways of editing dimensions.

Editing the Text in a Dimension

The Dimension Text Edit command (Dimtedit) enables you to move the text component of the dimension relative to the baseline. On the Dimension menu, the same function is described as Align Text—a more accurate description of this command. You can use any of your practice dimensions to experiment with these commands.
