Chapter 16. Creating and Using Blocks > Using AutoCAD DesignCenter

Using AutoCAD DesignCenter

The AutoCAD DesignCenter is an easy way to share information between drawings. It does not matter whether the drawing is currently open; AutoCAD DesignCenter allows you to share information from multiple external drawings. The available types of information that can be shared include Blocks, DimStyles, Layers, Layouts, Linetypes, Text Styles, and Xrefs. Developers of third-party tools can also add custom content to the AutoCAD DesignCenter.

Starting DesignCenter

To initiate DesignCenter, type Adcenter at the command line. It can also be accessed by selecting the AutoCAD DesignCenter button from the Standard toolbar (see Figure 16.8).
