Drawing Polylines

Polylines consist of continuous line and arc segments that can have either common or varying widths. These give you the ability to combine multiple line and arc segments into one, which means the segments can then be edited as a whole, taking you beyond what can be achieved with the individual line and arc commands. Use polylines when you want to combine lines and arcs as one or when you wish to work with one element rather than multiple, separate objects.

A single polyline object can replace multiple arc segments, which can save considerable editing time when working with complex objects. Another advantage of using polylines is that they can form a continuous, closed boundary, which might be used to define a functional space on an architectural drawing or a profile of a mechanical part.
