Chapter 24. Using External Databases > Working with Database Tables

Working with Database Tables

AutoCAD provides tools for working with external database files. By using these tools, you can view database tables and edit their data. When viewing tables, you can move, resize, and hide columns. You can specify a sort order for the table’s records. You can edit or delete a record, and you can add a new record to a table. You can search the table for particular values and replace those values when you find them. By using AutoCAD’s database table tools, you can control the display of table data and edit the data in tables.

Accessing Tables from the dbConnect Manager

The dbConnect Manager provides a simple visual way to review drawings linked to database files and the data sources to which they are linked. You can display links, labels, and queries defined in drawings. You can also display the tables associated to data sources. Through the dbConnect Manager, you can easily view the tables available on your system and the relationship between the tables and drawings to which they are linked.
