Part VI: CAD on the Internet > Publishing on the Web

Chapter 25. Publishing on the Web

With the rich integration of Internet access functionality in AutoCAD 2002, AutoCAD now offers a truly Web-enabled solution. At the same time, Autodesk’s DWF technology continues the tradition to “CAD-enable” the Web. The merger of these two technologies delivers very powerful tools to Web-savvy designers. In this chapter, you learn how to integrate these exciting new capabilities into your current engineering practices. Useful information to help further your understanding of the Internet is also included. Exercises in this chapter help you learn how to use AutoCAD’s Internet functionality to do the following:

  • Access DWG files located on remote Internet sites transparently from within AutoCAD.

  • Create DWF files using the ePlot mechanism.

  • View AutoCAD DWF files in your Web browser.

  • Embed hyperlinks within drawings.

  • Place DWF files into HTML pages.
