Expanded Reach

In today’s Internet/Facsimile high-speed data transmission environment, clients and customers are used to sharing project and design information quickly. AutoCAD 2000 extends the Internet capabilities of AutoCAD by adding features such as Web-aware file access, database connectivity, hyperlinks, plotting of Drawing Web Format (DWF) files, and DXF enhancements. Together or singly, these features enable you to connect and communicate your designs to anyone, anywhere.

Direct Browser Access

AutoCAD 2000 incorporates a number of new Internet-aware tools that simplify the process of retrieving and accessing data from the Internet. Files such as reference drawings, AutoLISP code, and script and menu files are now easily obtained over the Internet. Most of the dialog boxes in AutoCAD 2000 dealing with file operations provide a means for direct access to the Internet through three new buttons: Search the Web, Look in Favorites, and Add to Favorites. These buttons are shown in the Select File dialog box in Figure 1.21.
