Multiple Design Environment (MDE)

Multiple Design Environment (MDE) is AutoCAD’s implementation of the now-standard Windows capability that allows you to have more than a single document open within a single session of the parent software. With AutoCAD 2000’s MDE, you can easily multitask among several open drawings, much as you would with multiple files in a word processing application. Figure 1.1 shows an MDE session in AutoCAD 2000.
