Chapter 5. Using Linetypes and Lineweigh... > Creating and Using Custom Linetypes

Creating and Using Custom Linetypes

In a previous section in this chapter, you learned about loading linetypes into the current drawing. By loading linetypes, you present yourself with a fairly large and diverse selection of linetypes to use in your drawing. By loading the desired linetypes into the current drawing, you can create a drawing that more easily transfers the meaning of your drawing to the viewer.

Unfortunately, even though AutoCAD 2000 ships with a fairly large number of ready-to-use linetypes, you will probably come across situations in which the ready-made linetypes don’t fit your needs. Whether your discipline is architecture, mechanical, electrical, civil, or surveying, your diverse needs will almost certainly exceed the variety of linetypes shipped with AutoCAD.
