Part IX: Reference Materials > Installing the Express Tools

Installing the Express Tools

The AutoCAD Express Tools are automatically installed when AutoCAD is installed with either the Full option or with the Custom option with Express Tools selected. If you installed AutoCAD using the Typical option, the Express Tools were probably not installed. You can install them subsequent to an initial install procedure by rerunning the AutoCAD installation, choosing Add, and selecting Express Tools. The function and supporting files for Express Tools are, by default, placed in a folder named Express directly under the main AutoCAD2000 folder.

To enable the Express Tools after installing them, use the EXPRESSTOOLS command. This command places the Express directory on AutoCAD’s search path, then loads and places the Express menu on the menu bar. You can use this command to make the Express Tools available in the current profile. After the EXPRESSTOOLS command is used, the AutoCAD Express Tools functions load whenever AutoCAD is launched.
