EXTEND, TRIM, and Other Editing Commands in 3D

AutoCAD’s TRIM and EXTEND commands both have a Projection option that allow you some degree of flexibility when using these commands in 3D space. As shown in Figure 28.24, for example, the EXTEND command can extend a line lying on one 3D plane to another line lying on a different plane. In this case, the boundary line can be “projected” onto the plane of the line being extended. Alternately, you can cause the extension of one line to be taken to a plane perpendicular to the current viewing plane. Using the Project mode you can have TRIM and EXTEND behave in the following ways:
