Mixing Down Your Project

Mixing Down Your Project

  1. Using the Track view or the Console view, set initial values for the volume and panning for each track in the project.

  2. Set the chorus and reverb settings for the MIDI tracks.

  3. Set the Send settings for the audio tracks.

  4. Add any real-time effects you want to use for the individual MIDI and/or audio tracks.

  5. Add any real-time effects you want to use on the buses.

  6. Arm any of the parameters that you might adjust during mixdown, and then take a Snapshot of the current setup in case you want to come back to it later.

  7. Perform a test run of the mix by playing the song and adjusting the parameters during playback.

  8. Record your mix movements using the Record Automation feature. If you find that you need to make two different value changes at once during a mix, just make multiple Record Automation passes. You can also use envelopes for automation if you prefer that method.

  9. Save your project.
