What Is a Pattern-Based Programmer? A pattern-based programmer is comprised of a series of step programmed drum patterns that are compiled and stored within a saved song. Redrum offers four pattern banks, each of which can store eight separate patterns (see Figure 7.30). This adds up to 32 individual drum patterns that can be created, saved, and used within one song.
