Chapter 18. Mixing and Publishing Your Reason Songs - Pg. 378

The following sections break it down and take an in-depth look at what each export type does. Export Audio Exporting audio is synonymous with audio mixdown, which is simply the process of combining all of the various signals and real-time effects in your Reason song into a single stereo digital audio file. This file can then be used to make an audio CD that can be played in any CD player. Reason provides a couple of ways to export audio, each of which serves specific functions. Open your File pull-down menu and follow along. Export Song As Audio File--This option will export your entire Reason song, from start to finish. Export Loop As Audio File--This option will export whatever is contained between the left and right locator points of the Reason sequencer. Although this option might not appear to be immediately useful, the purpose of this function is explained later in this section. Let's export some audio using both methods. Export Your Reason Song as an Audio File In this section, you are going to load a Reason song and learn how to export the entire song as a stereo WAV or AIFF file. Reason offers many choices and options to create the best file possible, so it is important that you understand how the process works.
