Chapter 4. Working With Loops > About the Loop Browser Views

About the Loop Browser Views

The search pane (left side) of the loop browser has two viewing modes:

  • Button view displays an array of buttons, each bearing a keyword (Figure 4.4).

Figure 4.4. The loop browser in button view.

  • Column view sorts keywords using a three-column format resembling the Finder's column view (Figure 4.5).

Use the view buttons in the lower-left corner of the browser to choose a view (Figure 4.6).

✓ Tip

  • If you have installed libraries of loops produced by Apple or acquired from third-party developers, you may wish to simplify your search by limiting it to loops contained within one of those libraries. GarageBand 2 provides a simple means for accomplishing this: the Loops pop-up menu at the top of the loop browser's search pane (Figure 4.7). I'll explain the organization of this menu in more detail later in the chapter, after we've talked about adding more loops to GarageBand (see “Choosing the Loops the Loop Browser Displays”).
