Chapter 4. Working With Loops > Marking Loops as Favorites

Marking Loops as Favorites

If you find yourself using certain loops over and over again, you can save yourself the trouble of searching for them each time by declaring them as favorites. Each favorite loop has its own keyword that brings the loop to the surface quickly when you're browsing in either button view or column view. These favorites are not song specific—they'll show up as favorites in every song you work on in GarageBand.

To mark a loop as a favorite

  • Find the loop in the loop browser and make sure it is visible in the results list. Click the loop's check box in the Fav column (Figure 4.38).

A check appears in the Fav box, denoting it as a favorite (Figure 4.39).

To find favorite loops in button view

  • Make sure button view is active; then click the Favorites button (Figure 4.40).

✓ Tip

  • The Favorites button is available in the loop browser only if you have marked some loops as favorites. Otherwise, it's dimmed.
