Sorting the Results List

By default, the loops in the results list are sorted by name, but you can also sort the list on any of the other columns as well:

  • Software or Real Instrument

  • Tempo

  • Key

  • Beats (length)

  • Fav (whether the loop has been marked as a favorite)

You can also change the sort order for any column. The sort order is indicated by a tiny triangle at the right side of the header of the active column. If the triangle points upward, the column will sort in ascending order. If the triangle points downward, the column will sort in descending order.

To sort the results list

  • Click the heading of the column on which you want to sort the list (Figure 4.35).

    GarageBand re-sorts the list (Figure 4.36).

To change the sort order of a column

  • Click the header of the currently active column (Figure 4.36).

    The column's sort order is inverted (Figure 4.37).
