Chapter 12. Mixing Your Song > Using an Automation Curve

Using an Automation Curve

If you don't want a track's volume or pan position to remain constant throughout a song, enable its automation curves and add control points to the curve wherever you want volume or pan changes to begin or end. Editing automation curves is much like editing MIDI controller data (see “Editing MIDI Controller Information” in Chapter 10). You can drag control points up or down to adjust the volume level, and left or right to move them to different points in time. You can select control points so you can change several at once, and you can copy, paste, or delete them altogether.
