Chapter 13. Exporting and Importing > Bringing Audio Files into GarageBand

Bringing Audio Files into GarageBand

You can add an audio file to your GarageBand song merely by dragging it into the timeline from the Finder. The file can be stored anywhere on your hard disk or on an audio CD inserted into your computer. You can drag the file to an existing Real Instrument track, and the imported file will appear as a new region. The imported file replaces any pre-existing regions that it overlaps. You can also drag the file to the empty area below the tracks already in the song, and a new Real Instrument track will be created for the file. You can drag multiple files at once; each file will be placed in its own track.
