Using the Echo Effect

Echo is one of the most basic effects. The echo effect causes the source sound to repeat after a delay. To use echo, you must first make sure that it's turned on and choose a setting in the master track's Track Info window (the echo and reverb effects share this restriction). Then open the Track Info window for each instrument track to which you want to add echo and enable it there. Use the master track to set the maximum amount of echo in the song; then use the sliders in the Track Info windows for the individual instrument tracks to choose the portion of that maximum you want in each track. Echo has the following parameters (Figure 11.26):
