Unlocking the Timeline and Track Editor Playheads

The timeline and the track editor each have their own beat ruler and playhead. The playheads are synchronized: that is, they are both located at the same spot in the song. Normally, when you play a song, the playheads move to the center of the GarageBand window, and the timeline and track editor scroll by in the background so the playheads can stay centered (Figure 9.10). If the two areas are at different zoom levels, they will scroll at different speeds to enable the playheads to remain in the center.
