Lesson 2. Managing Your I/O Setup > What You've Learned

What You've Learned

  • The Audio Configuration window lets you create custom I/O labels by accessing the I/O labels view.

  • Single (mono) and paired (stereo) inputs and outputs can be labeled independently.

  • Labels can have long and short names for proper display in the Track Mixer.

  • A dedicated headphone mix can be created by assigning Sends to single bus that is set to a different set of outputs than the main mix.

  • A Send can be configured to Send post- or pre-volume fader.

  • The metronome click can be assigned to the headphone mix for isolation.

  • A talkback channel is created by using an input Object set to the output of the headphone mix.

  • Input Objects can be used to print effects upon recording.

  • Backing up your personal setup is useful both as a fail-safe and as a way of bringing your settings into a separate Logic system.
