Chapter 8. Using the Multitrack View > Importing MIDI Files

Importing MIDI Files

You can easily bring a MIDI file into a multitrack session. Once you have, you can fine-tune its volume, tempo, key, the instruments you hear on playback, and more.

To bring a MIDI clip into a track

1.
Do one of the following:

  • Right-click an empty track and choose Insert > MIDI from the pop-up menu (Figure 8.40).

  • Click an empty track and from the File menu choose Insert > MIDI.

Browse to and select a MIDI file on your computer (Figure 8.41).

Click Open.

The MIDI file is inserted into the selected track.
