Chapter 8. Using the Multitrack View > Working with Sessions

Working with Sessions

If you expect to use the same device property and master volume settings for most or all of your multitrack projects, you can save a session as a default after you've set it up the way you want it. This procedure allows you to use the default session as a template for future projects.

When you save a session, Audition stores it in .ses format. An .ses file does not actually contain audio. Storing a type of information called metadata, it functions as a kind of map, specifying what individual audio files to use, what portions of them to include, and where and how to use them.
