Chapter 6. Using Effects

Chapter 6. Using Effects

After you've recorded and edited your audio files, you may want to sweeten, distort, tweak, or otherwise make them more interesting with effects. Adobe Audition offers an impressive range of effects, from reverbs and delays to phase-shifting, flanging, and various other filters.

In this chapter, I'll show you how to use presets to store, customize, and access your commonly used effects, and how you can preview effects before you apply them. You'll see how many effects allow you to fine-tune them by using a graphic interface. To introduce you to the range of effects you will be applying and tweaking and show you how they may affect your recordings, I'll take you on a whirlwind tour through many of the individual effects in the Effects submenus. Finaly, I'll walk you through the configuration of three frequently used effects.
