Chapter 4. Managing Audio Files

Chapter 4. Managing Audio Files

Given the nature of computer hard disk space (finite) and of audio files (large), you can't afford to be disorganized or a pack rat when working in Audition. It's important to know what files Audition is generating, where they reside on your hard drive, and how much space they're taking up.

In this chapter, I'll explain the Files tab in the Organizer window and how it can help you work with your files in Audition. I'll also discuss the methods for saving files and the file formats you can choose. Finally, I'll describe how, why, and where Audition creates temporary files as you work and what you can do to manage them.
