Chapter 7. Looping Sound > Fine-Tuning Your Loop

Fine-Tuning Your Loop

Once you've created your loop, you can fine-tune its properties, which include tempo, key, and number of beats. To do this, you need to access the Loop Info tab of the Wave Properties window.

To adjust loop properties

1.
Open the Loop Info tab by doing one of the following:

  • Choose View > Wave Properties (or press Ctrl+P).

  • Right-click the waveform and select Wave Properties from the pop-up menu.

The Loop Info tab opens (Figure 7.8).

2.
Select the Loop button to activate loop playback for your file. Check the field that shows the number of beats in your file. If the number is incorrect, enter the correct number.

3.
In the Key field, specify the musical key of your file. If you don't know the key, click Find Nearest and Audition will try to determine it for you.
