Chapter 17. Uing External Effects

Chapter 17. Uing External Effects

One of the best things about using Cubase is the wealth of really interesting software plug-ins—including the very good plug-ins bundled with the program and a massive collection of third-party VST plug-ins—that you can use with Cubase.

That said, you may already own some hardware processing equipment you really like and want to keep using. Maybe you have a favorite external digital reverb box, a super high-quality outboard EQ/compressor, or an early '80s analog stereo phase shifter that sounds heavenly. You certainly don't want to be forced to choose between your digital recording system and your collection of favorite (and expensive) external hardware. Cubase doesn't force you to do so, as long as you have a few extra outputs on your sound card and are willing to spend a little time learning how to get the job done.
