Chapter 2. Touring The Cubase Sx 2 Interface > The Project Window Info Line

The Project Window Info Line

One of the most underused parts of Cubase is the Info line. The Info line shows volume, length, and other information about whatever is selected in the Event display. Whenever you select a new event in the Event display, the Info line shows information about it.

A great feature of the Info line is that you can actually change parameters for events directly on it. For example, when an audio event is selected in the Event display (Figure 2.17), the Info line shows parameters important for an audio event, such as the name, start and end times, length, and so on. Double-clicking one of the parameters allows you to edit the setting directly. Figure 2.18 shows the name of a file after it has been changed. Cubase usually has more than one place to make these sorts of changes, but the Info line is powerful because it collects so much of the information for a particular event in one place.
